5K Family Run/Walk Starts: 8:45 am (The event starts 15 minutes earlier than last year).
Latecomers please note that all Runners and Walkers MUST start the walk by 9:15 a.m. No one will be permitted to start after that time.
Live DJ, FREE family activities from KCRW and food trucks!
* Note: Runners and walkers will line up on different streets (exact location TBD). The run will start at 8:45 am. Then walkers will move up to the start line for the walk to begin.
* Our run is a "fun run" which means it will not be chip-timed. Instead, there will be clocks at the start and the finish line so you can see how fast you did the five kilometer route!

HomeWalk will be held at a new location this year! Grand Park - 200 N. Grand Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90012.
There will be a significant amount of street closures in the area, so we recommend arriving early to the event.
General registration will take place on the top tier of Grand Park (closest to the Music Center), on Grand Ave. starting at 7:00 a.m. You will receive your bib and incentives when you register.
If you are on a team that has a booth, you will check in at your booth instead of going to general registration. Please make sure to check with your Team Captain for details.
Please note that there will be a separate email going out to Team Captains with more details.
If you are on a team that does not have a booth, we encourage you to use the Team Meet and Greet area on the top tier of Grand Park. Feel free to bring a sign to hold up for team members to see. There will also be materials available on-site to make a sign. We encourage teams to use signs during the walk as well!
Please note that online registration will officially close at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday. There will still be on-site registration available the morning of the event, as well as incentives.
A note to participants:
Online participant registration will close on Friday, November 18 at NOON in preparation for HomeWalk. You will still be able to register on-site at the event on November 19. If you are planning on receiving a donation that will impact your eligibility to receive incentives, we encourage you to make sure that this is done online before NOON on Friday, November 18, or bring the donation with you to the event. Incentives will no longer be offered to those receiving online donations after the event, but donations will still go towards your 2016 personal or team fundraising goals.
A note to donors:
You will be able to make a donation on the HomeWalk website until December 31, 2016.
To avoid traffic on the day of HomeWalk, we strongly recommend that participants utilize LA public transportation.
- Red and Purple Lines provide easy access to Grand Park located near the Civic Center/Grand Park Metro Station (see location of station on the Route Map).

Parking Structures: There are several Lots available for our participants. Parking is $9.00 cash or credit is accepted.
- Lot 14 at 135 N. Grand Avenue (Music Center)
- Lot 16 at 111 S. Grand Avenue (Walt Disney Concert Hall)
- Lot 17 at 131 S. Olive Street
If you are coming from the East, you’ll travel west bound on 1st Street, take a left on Olive and an immediate right into Lot 17.
If you are coming from the West or South, go east bound on 1st Street then take a right on Grand Avenue and a right on 2nd Street into the Disney Hall Garage (Lot 16)
If you are coming from the North, go south bound on Grand Avenue and then right into the Music Center garage. (Lot 14)
Metro: We encourage you to use Metro if possible. There is a stop right at Grand Park (Civic Center/Grand Park Station)

Lyft: Leave your car at home, and take a Lyft ride to HomeWalk! All users can enter code "UWHOMEWALK" in "Payment" to receive 20% off of a ride to or from the event (up to a max discount of $10).
BUS ROUTING/DROP-OFF AND PARKING
Buses can come up Hill St. to 1st St. and drop off passengers at the corner of Hill St. and 1st St. The bus driver has 2 options. 1. The bus can proceed to 1st and Main, where it will be parked, but please note that this will be stacked parking and the bus will not be able to get out until 1 p.m. 2. If your team prefers to have more flexibility, the bus can proceed to our overflow Lot at: Cesar Chavez and Matthews (one Block east of Soto St), in the Boyle Heights area. This is fairly close, within 10-15 minutes of Grand Park. A map will be handed to each bus driver at the drop-off point.
No pets allowed unless it is a service animal.
Balloons are permitted, but they must be tied down and removed when the event is over.
Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen!
Donations will still be accepted on-site at the event. Payment forms include: cash, check or credit card.
